For the past five issues of BATMAN: ODYSSEY, fans have speculated to whom Bruce Wayne is speaking while telling the stories of his quest through the underworld. In the penultimate issue of the miniseries, which goes on sale today, their question is answered.

“One of the reasons I love working with Gene [Ha] is that besides being an enormously talented artist, he also truly invests himself into the material he works on. Spore is a modern monster based on the ongoing threat of bio-warfare, and Gene clearly had a blast designing him and his flesh-eating Seed creatures. What’s poignant about Spore is that his predicament is a subtle metaphor for the heart of issue #7’s overall story.

Aqualad has returned to Atlantis. Except this time around, he’s brought his friends and Young Justice team members, Superboy and Miss Martian, with him. What the three of them discover, however, is less than a warm homecoming. When a new villain threatens to disrupt the tranquility of Atlantean life, the young trio will need to figure out how to save the underwater kingdom. And fast.

BATMAN #6 has sold out and will be going back to press for its second printing. Written by Scott Snyder and illustrated by Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion, the story paves the path for next month’s “Night of the Owls” crossover event.
