EYES: Purple HAIR: None FIRST APPEARANCE: Green Lantern Corps., Vol. 2, #1 (September 2006) AKA: Green Lantern BACKGROUND from the comic books: The youngest child of a ruling family that brought peace to her tribal, war-torn homeworld, Princess Iolande's selection as a Green Lantern following the murders of her father and brothers came as a surprise to many, including herself, who assumed that either of her two older brothers would be chosen. Though she does not express it often, Princess Iolande feels torn between her duties to her people as a member of its royal family, and her duties to the cosmos as a member of the Green Lantern Corps. Iolande is a slender and exotic-looking alien female, with stripes of glowing energy adorning her face. She exudes superiority, entitlement and confidence, which other Lanterns, particularly ones in authority, can find off-putting, but she is extremely proud and wants badly to excel as a Green Lantern. She is a willing teammate when approached with the respect she feels she deserves. ATTRIBUTES: * Green Lantern ring allows for a protective shield, flight, and energy constructs. * Near-photographic memory.
