We’re all huge Batman fans here on DCComics.com. We set our watches by how close we are to the release of “The Dark Knight Rises” and a few of us may have even attempted to read the entire “Night of the Owls” storyline in real-time (we're still figuring out how we can include All-Star Western). However, every now and then, it’s nice to shine the spotlight on other members of the Bat-family, and this week it was Kate Kane’s chance to shine. BATWOMAN VOL. 1: HYDROLOGY collects the first six issues of Batwoman’s DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 monthly, and to celebrate its release, we offered up some insightful material from the hardcover’s bonus section every day this week. We also announced some new “The Dark Knight Rises” goodies and had some new stuff to share from Before Watchmen, Justice League and more. In short, it was a typical week here at DC. A typically awesome week.

Here’s what went down this week on the DC Comics website…

Batwoman Vol. 1: Hydrology is in stores now. If you haven’t yet seen it, it’s an absolutely beautiful book, due in no small part to the rich art of J.H. Williams III. Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what went into the launch of this title by checking out our five-day spotlight. Click for day one, day two, day three, day four and of course, day five.

Who’s going to San Diego Comic-Con? DC will be on the show floor with a new booth and a full slate of creator signings and panels. And you just may find us at your hotel too. No, we’re not looking to crash on your floor. We’ll be debuting a special, limited edition “Arrow” hotel key.

Can’t make it to San Diego? No problem! Stay tuned for more info on how we’ll be bringing Comic-Con to you. And in the meantime, feel free to entertain yourself with the “The Dark Knight Rises’” Tumbler Designer, a new website that allows you to design and test drive your very own Tumbler. Or if you’re an aspiring filmmaker, perhaps you’d like to try your hand at filming a new Dark Knight-themed TV spot in our Imported From Gotham City contest? You could win a trip to the red carpet premiere and a chance to see your spot air on national television.

Thursday marked the debut of 5.2 Reasons, a brand new weekly feature here on DCComics.com. Our first installment listed 5.2 reasons why Brian Azzarello is one of the best writers in comics. As if you needed any convincing…

The Mayans may have predicted the end of the world this year, but we’re pretty sure we’re all going to be here in 2013...and if that’s the case, we’re definitely going to want new graphic novels to read. So check out our releases for Spring 2013 and start planning your purchases now.

And finally, we’ll wrap things up with two great new covers. Click here to see Josh Middleton’s sexy, ‘60s-set variant for BEFORE WATCHMEN: SILK SPECTRE #2. After that, be sure to check out Jim Lee’s gripping group shot for JUSTICE LEAGUE #11. Then start counting the days until these comics are available.

Two days of fun in the summer sun and then we’ll be right back here with more excitement. Until then, stay cool and we’ll see you in seven!
