It’s October, the month where we like to dress up a little strangely, frighten our friends and family members and enjoy being just a little bad. In other words, it’s the perfect month for super-villains, and they’ve certainly been making their presence known around here on DCComics.com. We’ve heard rumblings of evil schemes, sinister plots and um…a personality quiz. But it’s an EEEEVIL personality quiz!

Okay, we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves, and super-villains or not, that’s just plain rude. Let’s get to this week’s review!

Here’s what went down this week on the DC Comics website…

The “week” actually started last weekend, when we announced Multiversity, an exciting, sure-to-be-seminal miniseries by Grant Morrison that will expand the Multiverse for DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 while also treating us to some great art and characters, as seen in this page from Frank Quitely.

But the world isn’t the only thing that’s expanding for us. So is our iBookstore listing! Over 100 of our bestselling graphic novels are now available for download. (Trust us, you’re going to be very happy about this the next time you have to move your graphic novel collection.)

With Zero Month, we launched four brand new ongoing titles in what we’re calling the “Third Wave” of DC Comics – The New 52. You’ve been talking about them, so we’ve gotten the creative teams to talk about them too. Check out our spotlight interviews for Team 7, Talon, Sword of Sorcery and The Phantom Stranger.

On Wednesday, we launched a brand new DC Collectibles’ Spoiler Alert. You can check out the first image here, and all subsequent “spoilers” on the DC Collectibles Facebook page. So…can you guess what the new item is? We mean, other than blue.

Animal Man fans! Justice League Dark fans! You may want to pay attention to our Twitter giveaway this week. The prize is an 11” by 14” Animal Man card that’s been signed and sketched by Jeff Lemire.

Unfortunately, we’re not giving away any of the newly announced Justice League Kias featuring custom art by Jim Lee. But if you’re going to New York Comic-Con, you can check out the first one for free…

Super-villains, this is your month! No, really it is. We’re celebrating super-villains all month long here at DC. In fact, you could say they’re taking over...

They’re slowly taking over our character section. Check out our villain bios for Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Black Manta and the Joker, and be sure to check back next week for more.

They’re slowly taking over our sweepstakes. Be sure to enter to win enough super-villain swag to cement your status at the big player in town.

They’re slowly taking over our comics books. Check out the awesome new die cut covers celebrating the Joker’s return in “Death of the Family.”

Heck, they’re even taking over our weekly features, as evidenced by this week’s 5.2 Reasons, which is also all about “Death of the Family.”

Well, as long as they don’t take over our weekend. That’s it for this week, but we’ll see you again in seven for another Week-In-Review. And be sure to check DCComics.com next week for our Countdown to Comic-Con, New York-style! We’ll be offering up another trinity of tips for surviving the con, and will be at the Javitz Center in force with our exclusive Con Away From Con coverage. Don’t miss out!
