Tomorrow’s the first day of a brand new month which means that it’s the perfect time to sample something a little new at the comic store. And as far as DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 goes, it doesn’t get any newer than The Movement.

THE MOVEMENT #1 isn’t just a new ongoing title, it’s an entirely new concept for The New 52. Set well within DC Comics continuity, this series takes a very modern approach to super heroics as a new team arises to protect the common members of society. It’s a look at what happens when a small group of concerned citizens decide they’ve had enough with the greed and corruption and begin fighting back. But what happens when they start getting a taste of power themselves? Will they become yet another testament to its ability to corrupt?

The Movement boasts a star-powered creative team of Gail Simone and Freddie Williams II, and is the first of two new boundary-pushing titles to join The New 52 this month. (Look for the second to hit stores a bit later.)

Of course, if you’re looking to spend some time with old friends as well as new this Wednesday, we have you covered as well with new issues of Detective Comics, Action Comics, Animal Man, Aquaman and Green Arrow. Plus, it appears someone’s returning to her classic look…
