Welcome to What's New in The New 52 – where you, the fans, get a sneak peek at the stuff that crosses our desks. This little feature is a way to keep you all in the loop about what's new, different and exciting in The New 52 – whether it's a character design, cover, splash page or panel.

Back when I first told you about FOREVER EVIL: BLIGHT, you learned that Blight is the name of the physical manifestation of all the evil in the universe. To combat this monumental threat, Pandora is going to undergo a drastic physical transformation. By embodying all of the light in the universe, she’s able to become a sort-of anti-Blight, and may be the only hope this world has in defeating this treacherous entity.

When Pandora’s journey began in The New 52, she seemed to being living an immortal existence of pain and torture for releasing the Seven Sins into the world. But following the events of “Trinity War,” The Outsider made her realize that her Box actually came from Earth 3, and for the first time, she considered the possibility that she may not have been solely responsible for unleashing all of the evil and tragedy that came after her Box was opened.

Thus, in her fight against Blight, she self-actualizes and connects with the spirit of light. But will that be enough to take down a force as powerful as Blight? Either way, Pandora is determined to redeem her name and prove that no matter what you’ve done in the past, you can still do good and become a hero.

In the gallery above, take a look at artist Julian Totino Tedesco’s design for Pandora’s transformation into a Light being. She’ll first appear this way in TRINITY OF SIN: PANDORA #7, and will continue to don this look throughout the remainder of the FOREVER EVIL: BLIGHT story arc.

Until next week!
