Yes, after taking a few weeks off, we’re back to break down what’s in store for you this Wednesday from DC Comics and Vertigo. And what’s in store for you is the debut issue of DC Comics’ first weekly comic series since the start of The New 52.

What better way to celebrate Batman’s 75th Anniversary than with a brand new Batman series written by some of the most talented folks in the world of comics? And with a new issue out each week, fans can revel in the fact that not a single week will go by in this monumental year without a new Batman adventure on the comic book shelves. Of course, none of this would amount to much if there wasn’t much at stake for Gotham and its Dark Knight in Batman Eternal, but nothing could be further from the truth. The first issue contains a mystery, a tragic accident, plenty of tense action and a harsh turn of events for one of Gotham’s most beloved residents. Trust us, when this one ends you’ll be dying to know what happens next, and the great thing is that you’ll only have to wait another week!

Of course, it’s not all Batman this Wednesday. In fact, the other two members of DC’s trinity are facing a big week as well. Doomsday has awoken, and when last we left Superman and Wonder Woman, they were kinda getting their faces melted off in a nuclear explosion. We’re not exactly sure how they’re going to pull through that one, let alone go mano-a-mano with one of the most destructive forces in all the known universe, but we’re guessing SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #7 will give us a pretty good idea.

It’s also a pretty big week over at Vertigo, especially for the folks (both powered and non) who live in Astro City. In addition to a brand new issue, there are also two collections slated to be released. Plus, look for new issues of FBP: Federal Bureau of Physics, Coffin Hill, The Royals: Masters of War, Batgirl, Constantine, Justice League 3000 and more.
