We don’t need Diana’s lasso to admit that we’re uber-excited about the launch of Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman, the brand new Wonder Woman anthology comic that made its digital debut last week and will premiere in print this Wednesday. Think about it. These are out-of-continuity Wonder Woman tales, meaning that the only limits are the writer and artists’ imaginations. You want to see Diana fighting Nazis in World War II? What about leading her fellow Amazonians to war? Flying the Invisible Jet? Fighting alongside the Justice League? What about teaming up with Harley Quinn and Krypto the Super Dog to take down a zombie apocalypse? It’s all possible! (Though I wouldn’t hold my breath for the last one.) The first issue kicks off with a Gail Simone and Ethan Van Sciver tale that finds Diana filling in for an ailing Batman in Gotham, and wraps up with a sweet Circe tale from Amanda Deibert and Cat Staggs. Of course, that’s just the beginning! Look for future installments from Ivan Cohen, Marcus To, Gilbert Hernandez, Marguerite Sauvage, Ollie Masters, Amy Mebberson and more.

Even better, Diana’s not the only heroine having a big week. For the first time, “Superman: Doomed,” the massive crossover event that has been tearing up the pages of Action Comics and Superman/Wonder Woman expands into the world of Supergirl in SUPERGIRL #34. Previously in the storyline, Kara Zor-El taught her cousin a very important lesson in controlling his rage (one that’s perhaps much easier to learn than to put into action, judging by events since). That lesson took place in the reaches of space since the Earth’s atmosphere had been dusted with Kryptonite and was toxic to Superman. But Superman isn’t the only Kryptonian on Earth, is he? Now, Kara suffers the effects of the Kryptonite fallout. Earth hasn’t always been welcoming to Supergirl, but this is the first time it’s been downright toxic. Will Kara survive?

Of course, we’d be crazy to overlook the release of THE MULTIVERSITY #1 this week, the first issue in Grant Morrison’s years-in-the-making new series. Of course we’re not crazy. In fact, we’re devoting an entire week to it! You can read more about that here, and check out a preview of this highly anticipated new comic below. Plus, first looks at the latest issues of Batman Eternal, The New 52: Futures End, Infinity Man and the Forever People, Batman and Robin, Fables, Batwoman and more.
