The temperature may be dropping outside, but things are sure heating up at your local comic shop, especially if you’re a DC Comics fan. This pre-Christmas week brings with it a whole bunch of holiday treats, including some highly anticipated installments from a few of our heavy hitters.

To start, this Wednesday brings with it a new issue of Grant Morrison’s Multiversity. This week we visit Earth-5, known throughout the Multiverse as “Thunderworld.” Written by Morrison and drawn by Batgirl’s Cameron Stewart, it’s a must, MUST read for all SHAZAM! fans. Beginning with a look at the Rock of Eternity, and ending with—well, we’ll let you discover that yourself, it’s a throwback to the fun, lighthearted comic books of days past, channeled through Morrison’s always brilliant sensibilities. As for Stewart, well, he’s more than up to the task…

This week’s also a huge week for Batman fans! Not only can they look forward to the most recent chapter of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s “Endgame” in BATMAN #37, but over in Batman and Robin, the Dark Knight goes toe-to-toe with arguably the most formidable villain in the entire DC Universe: Darkseid! Seriously, it takes a lot for Batman to be considered the underdog in a fight, but the Vegas odds have to be on the New God here, right? Either way, it’s going to be a fight for the ages, and Batman certainly has something to fight for—the life of his son Damian. Yes, Robin Rises this month, and it all starts in BATMAN AND ROBIN #37.

Finally, things are looking pretty darn bleak in the pages of Justice League these days, what with the Amazo virus killing people and all. Not only have several members of the League contracted the virus, but the whole thing was created by one of their own. (This is why you don’t let one of the most nefarious, ruthless men in the world join the Justice League, people!) Something tells us this one isn’t going to end well for Lex Luthor. At the very least, it seems pretty certain that everything’s going to change before this gripping storyline is through. Be sure to pick up the latest chapter of Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok’s “The Amazo Virus” in JUSTICE LEAGUE #37 this week.

All that, plus new issues of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman: Overture (!!!), Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batman/Superman, The Kitchen, Teen Titans, Batman Eternal and more. Look for previews for all of these great comic below…
