Savage Times

This week episode THE FLASH introduced the immortal villain Vandal Savage, And while his origins in the show differ slightly from that of the comics, one thing definitely remains the same: he's one of the most dangerous villains in the DC Universe. First appearing in GREEN LANTERN #10, Vandal Savage led a caveman tribe in the days before recorded history. He gained immortality from exposure to a strange meteorite and for 50,000 years roamed and attempted to rule the Earth, claiming direct involvement in some of history's most notorious moments, from the rise and fall of the Roman Empire to the gruesome murders committed by Jack the Ripper.

Hawkman

First appearing in FLASH COMICS #1, Hawkman served as both a member of the Justice League and Justice Society throughout his career—an easy feat for someone that's lived as many lives as him. Both Hawkman and Hawkgirl originally hail from ancient Egypt where they both tragically met their demise—only to return once again, reincarnated into new lives. For thousands of years, they've lived, died, and returned, finding each other every time and continuing their ever-lasting love. In their current lives, they're two of the DC Universe's greatest heroes, who utilize the powers of the mysterious Nth Metal to fight crime and battle alongside their fellow heroes.

See you next week!
