A Nice Life in Ivy Town

Before getting called back to duty as city saviors, Oliver and Felicity seemed to have built a nice little life for themselves in a little suburb of Ivy Town. Comic fans might recognize the name as home to Ray Palmer and Ivy University, where the Atom first discovered the super-powered properties of white dwarf star matter. Essentially, Ivy Town is to the Atom as Gotham is to Batman and Metropolis is to Superman.

DID THAT FLIGHT JACKET SAY "JORDAN"?!

Yes it did. While hanging out in Coast City during the flashback, Oliver went to a bar where for a quick second fans saw someone in a flight jacket with the name "Jordan." Comic book fans probably went nuts as this was a reference to Hal Jordan, aka the Green Lantern, who hails from Coast City and who works as jet pilot when not saving the galaxy from intergalactic threats. A New Challenger Has Arrived

Name dropped by Ra's al Ghul last season, Damien Darhk makes his appearance this week on ARROW as the super-powerful big bad of the season and a threat Oliver and Company might not be equipped to handle. In the comics, Darhk first appeared in TITANS #1 and was regarded as one of the most well-connected and dangerous members of the criminal underground. Read all about him in his DCComics.com character bio.

See you next week!
