This Just Happened: A New Adventure with FUTURE QUEST!

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t had a chance to read the brand new DC Hanna-Barbera FUTURE QUEST #1 and don’t want to know what happens next, stop reading this post now (spoilers ahead!)

This week introduced the first of the reimagined Hanna-Barbera properties from DC—FUTURE QUEST #1! It begins in the past, with an epic battle somewhere in the infinite galaxies, as a group of aliens of all different species are standing together to destroy the mysterious Omnikron. However, it seems that in order to destroy it, they must sacrifice their lives, leaving only one to survive.

Flash forward to present day Earth and Jonny Quest, his brother Hadji, Intelligence One operative Race Bannon and furry sidekick Bandit are on a recon mission in search of strange vortexes that have been appearing and disappearing around the planet, leaving behind unique artifacts that match nothing from this galaxy.

Meanwhile, Dr. Benton Quest receives a visit from Inter-Nation agents Deva Sumadi Ray Randall (and his hawk Avenger!), sent to discover what Dr. Quest has been tracking, and what these mysterious vortexes mean for the world’s security and safety. Dr. Quest reveals that someone else seems just as curious and eager to find and capture these artifacts: Dr. Zin.

Then this just happened:

The vortexes reveal a glimpse into worlds from across the universe!

In no time, Dr. Zin’s battle drones are on the scene to retrieve specimens that come through the vortex, with no qualms on who might get hurt along the way.

And Dr. Quest soon finds out why Ray Randall is a special mission agent…

Will Jonny and Hadji escape Dr. Zin’s battle drones? And what is the sinister Zin after?

Find out more from writer Jeff Parker and artists Evan “Doc” Shaner & Steve “The Dude” Rude, Jordie Bellaire (colors), and Dave Lanphear (letters) in this week’s FUTURE QUEST #1!
