Hey, Source readers -- got some news to close the week with. Writer G. Willow Wilson will return to SUPERMAN with a new “Grounded” tale in issue #706, illustrated by artist Amilcar Pinna.
The response to T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS #1 so far has been tremendous, so on behalf of Nick Spencer, CAFU, and the rest of the team, let me say thanks for taking a chance on a book that A) is a little less straightforward than usual and B) is, for a lot of readers, a pretty unknown quantity. We’re thrilled to find such a receptive audience!
The "Grounded" storyline continues right here as Superman visits Mt. Prospect - a suburb just southeast of Chicago. In this issue, Superman discovers that there is a darkness even more immense than outer space... One buried deep inside the human heart.
Whenever I tell anyone that I am a comic book writer, I always get the same response:
"That's amazing. How do you do it? How do you draw all those pictures?"
GREEN LANTERN #59 has got it all – strong character moments involving some of the icons of the DCU, action, tantalizing clues and a helluva cliffhanger at the end, all masterfully presented by writer Geoff Johns and artist Doug Mahnke. And that cliffhanger’s what “This Just Happened” is all about. So my first question is – have you read the issue?
We’ve heard bits of news about WEIRD WORLDS, the anthology mini-series hitting in January and featuring the talents of Aaron Lopresti, Kevin Maguire and Kevin VanHook, among others – but what more can be revealed?
So much going on in this issue – and all of it makes it impossible to put down. Here’s a sampling: Hal Jordan on watch? The Flash and Green Lantern not seeing eye-to-eye? Oh, and did you really think you’d seen the last of him?
All that and a last page that’ll have you screaming for the next issue -- can you say "That Just Happened"?
