Some Tuesday news: THE GREAT TEN

It's a short week here at The Source, what with our last summer Friday looming. Then it's back to the drain of five-day work weeks. Frightening, huh?

But we've got a ton of stuff lined up to show off in the next few days, so no worries. And we know how much you like teaser art. What's better than that? Well, teaser art and news, no?

'This ain't your grandfather's Doc Savage... or your father's Batman.'

We decided Brian Azzarello put it best, so why try and spruce things up with a cheeky headline?

Matt Idelson talks CODENAME: PATRIOT

A rare non-rainy day and I find myself trapped indoors with Wil Moss, putting the finishing touches on SUPERMAN #691, the fourth and final chapter of our latest Superman crossover, “Codename: Patriot”. While Wil goes over some dialogue tweaks involving the not-so-nice General Lane with James Robinson, I’m going over David Curiel’s colors.

Who is BATGIRL?

Well, you'll have to wait until 8/19 for more clues. But, we do have a first look at interiors from the first issue, by writer Bryan Q. Miller and artist Lee Garbett, plus a variant cover by Cully Hamner. Nice way to start the week, huh?

Start your guessing!

Two-Face makes his move as 'Long Shadows' continues in BATMAN #689

Isn't that a lovely Andy Kubert cover? You know what's better than that? Having an Andy Kubert cover with interiors by Mark Bagley. Words from Judd Winick don't hurt either. And here, in the second installment of the three-part "Long Shadows" arc, we find the newly-minted Batman scrambling to retrieve the Arkham Asylum escapees, while Two-Face begins a ground war of his own.
