History:
Arthur Curry, A.K.A. Aquaman, is the son of the human Tom Curry and an Atlantean woman named Atlanna. Raised by his father on land, Arthur eventually took his rightful place on the throne as King of Atlantis. Shortly after this time, Arthur became a member of the loose-knit band of adventurers known only as The Others, with whom he battled his nemesis Black Manta. Aquaman’s role in the death of Black Manta’s father initiated a blood feud between the two that continues to this day. It is perhaps no surprise that Aquaman, a founding member of the Justice League, finds solace on the surface world, recently returning to his childhood home in Amnesty Bay, Maine, with his amphibian mate Mera by his side. Aquaman is as determined a hero as there is, and he needs that determination, faced as he is with the misconceptions surface people have about him. Anyone inclined to see him as a joke quickly changes his mind on seeing him in action.
