History:

Police Commissioner of the most dangerous city in the world is not a job many men could handle, but James Gordon is no ordinary man. A cop dedicated to doing things the right way, and a relentless social worker, Commissioner Gordon has been instrumental to Gotham City’s survival. This has led to Gordon’s becoming one of Batman’s most trusted allies, and his only one on the Gotham Police Force. Gordon’s ties to the city go much further than his job though, as his family has made their impact as well. His daughter Barbara defends Gotham as the costumed vigilante Batgirl, and his son James Jr. is a deeply troubled psychopath and murderer. Even after facing the trauma of his son’s current state and Barbara’s being shot by the Joker, Commissioner Gordon has persevered and continues to be one of Gotham’s true leaders.
