History:
Built by science, Frankenstein is a Super Agent for the clandestine Super Human Advanced Defense Executive (S.H.A.D.E.). S.H.A.D.E.’s mission is to thwart attacks from creatures, monsters and terrible things that try to prey on the world. S.H.A.D.E.’s base of operations is The Ant Farm, a mobile, 3-inch indestructible globe created by their U.N. Science Liaison, Dr. Ray Palmer. 

Frankenstein serves S.H.A.D.E. alongside other monsters including the Creature Commandos, and for a time his partner, Lady Frankenstein. They all follow orders from S.H.A.D.E.’s director, Father Time, who recruited Frankenstein. Frankenstein serves in the name of justice, but he is haunted by questions concerning his origins and struggles to understand if he is truly alive or dead.
