Green Arrow in Comics
From Green Arrow #0…
Green Arrow #1 (2011)
Base of Operations:
Green Arrow has no superpowers, but is the world’s greatest archer and an elite marksman.
Oliver “Ollie” Queen was born into wealth as the primary heir to his father’s multinational corporation, Queen Industries. Good natured but irresponsible, this life of status led to Ollie’s falling out of several positions at Queen Industries and becoming an embarrassment to his family. During an attack by thieves on one of the company’s offshore oil drilling stations, Ollie makes several rash decisions that lead to innocent people dying and property being destroyed. The oil rig explodes and Ollie is stranded on a desert island. Here he begins to reshape his personality and hone his archery skills for survival.
Years later, Ollie debuts as the crime-fighting Green Arrow in an effort to atone for his many mistakes. Green Arrow is also no stranger to the rest of the DC Universe, although as his relationship with Roy Harper, AKA Arsenal, has yet to be fully explained and his repeated attempts to join the Justice League have so far failed. Never one to be left out of a party, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Emerald Archer.
