Feel the aftershocks from 'The Rise of the Olympian' in WONDER WOMAN #36

It's not a stretch to say writer Gail Simone and artist Aaron Lopresti's "The Rise of the Olympian" arc changed Wonder Woman's life completely, and it's not over for our favorite Amazon. In this issue, Diana finds herself fighting for her life against the man chosen by the gods to replace her -- Achilles, the Warkiller. Doesn't sound like much fun. At least for her. We've got a few pages here, though, for those us standing on the sideline and looking to be entertained.

WONDER WOMAN #36 hits 9/30.

WEEKLY WONDER WOMAN TALLY: 175

Huh? What's the Weekly Wonder Woman Tally, you say? Well, glad you asked.

Not long ago, Dan DiDio mentioned the fan debate regarding Wonder Woman's upcoming "600th" issue. Lots of people have asked Dan to revert the book to it's original numbering to commemorate the event. Far from being a pushover, Dan said that if fan response -- in the form of postcards -- was strong enough, he'd consider it. And by strong, we mean "600 postcards" strong. Get it?

A slew of art and news from Editor Elisabeth Gehrlein

Happy Friday, DC Nation! Elisabeth Gehrlein here, DCU editor of…well, a really nice range of titles. One of the things I love about my current slate of books is how varied they are – I’ve got everything on my plate from JONAH HEX to TINY TITANS, with ADVENTURE COMICS and DOOM PATROL and WONDER WOMAN in between. So every day is a genre-bending journey where one minute I could be thinking “Where did those penguins get rocket packs in the first place?” and then suddenly a colorist calls with this disturbing question: “What color should I make the fragments of his shattered legs?”

Out today: WONDER WOMAN #35

It's the conclusion to the two-part "Birds of Paradise" arc, as a gaggle of super-powered cage fighters find themselves in the worst possible place to be -- Wonder Woman and Black Canary's bad side. Also, find out the final resolution between Diana and Nemesis. What more could you want? Oh, alright. Here are a few pages.

Wonder Woman and Black Canary, together? Yeah, sold

Following up after the status-altering events of WONDER WOMAN #33, writer Gail Simone and artist Aaron Lopresti kick off the two-part “Birds of Paradise” story, which finds Wonder Woman teaming up with Ollie Queen’s significant other, Black Canary, for an undercover caper that finds the duo rubbing elbows with some of the worst villains the DCU. It’s gonna be a rough time for some rough characters – but who better to spend it with than Diana and Dinah? Check out some pages from the issue below.
