What to do this weekend: WONDER CON IN SAN FRANCISCO

Greetings DC Nation! Are you ready for WonderCon? We're so ready to go that I took a practice run to the airport this morning and then I held a rehearsal DC Universe panel on the street in front of our offices. We are THAT ready. From April 2-4 we will be at the Moscone Center South in San Francisco and we will be the best prepared comics publisher you have ever seen! You will be in awe of the precision of our details and the smoothness of our delivery.

In all seriousness though - we couldn't be more excited to be attending WonderCon this year. We have an incredible list of DC creators that will be on hand including - Amanda Conner, Darwyn Cooke, David Finch, Adam Hughes, Geoff Johns, Jimmy Palmiotti, James Robinson, Greg Rucka, Gail Simone, Kevin Smith, Ethan Van Sciver and Judd Winick. In fact, this is the first show David Finch will attend as a member of the DC Nation so be sure to give him an extra big welcome when you see him.

We have panels every day of the show so be sure to take a look at the schedule below and join us for as many as you can. DC Nation on Friday make be a little bit different than you're expecting and Brightest Day is the first panel we'll have on the subject post-Blackest Night #8 so be sure to check that out as well. Also be sure to remember how awesome our friends in Seattle were with the doughnuts when you make plans to come to the DCU panel on Saturday. Seriously.

And before I go pack my bags I want to remind you that our booth number is 607 and that we have the BEST free stuff at any convention!

See you at the show!

Unveiling the new POWER GIRL creative team

The question’s obvious: Who’s taking over the creative reins on POWER GIRL?

Well, let's read the tea leaves a bit, shall we? As some of you recall, Power Girl was once a member of Justice League Europe. It seems like a lot of the characters that were under the umbrella of Justice League International are reforming in the pages of JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST. JL: GENERATION LOST is written by Judd Winick. Well, so's POWER GIRL, starting with June's issue #13.

Teaming with new artist Sami Basri, who contributed some fantastic covers to recent issues of THE SHIELD and is also handling interiors on POWER GIRL, the latest chapter in Power Girl's life finds her inching closer to her former JLI teammates -- but why? It's too early to say, gang, but Judd's got a few teases to keep us on our toes. Right, Judd?

"It is with GREAT fear and excitement that Sami and I leap into this gig. Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray, and Amanda Conner have bought an amazing, fresh, and inventive rebirth to this character. Our greatest challenge will be to remain faithful to what they've created and also take Power Girl to a new place. As far as the course that the story will take, I'll be uncharacteristically forthcoming : The story is tied to JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST. Not CHAINED to it, but tied. Power Girl has a history with the JLI that will be explored. A lot."

Want more? Well, here's Basri's first cover on the series. Nice, huh?

What's going on with the JSA in March?

Well, we gave you a little tease last week -- with some help from Matthew Sturges --about JSA ALL STARS #4 (which we've kindly included below), but what of the other titles tied to the team? I'm staying tight-lipped, but these cover images should help give you an idea to what's coming up.

What's happening with the JSA in February? Here's a hint

February's still a ways away, dear readers, but we figured it'd be a good time to give you an inside look at the covers of some of the JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA family of titles hitting that month -- and there's a ton of hitting happening in these pages. Check out the covers for the February issues of MAGOG, POWER GIRL, JSA ALL STARS and the JSA ANNUAL below.

Finish off the week with a look at POWER GIRL #5

Writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray and amazingly talented artist Amanda Conner continue to bring the fun with the second part of their "Space Girls Gone Wild!" arc, which finds the trio of sexy alien marauders continuing their rampage across Earth. Power Girl tries to figure out how to stop them, but with aliens this pretty, readers might not want them to leave. But don't take my word for it. Check out some pages below.

POWER GIRL #5 hits 9/23.

Finish the week with a look at POWER GIRL #4

The talented POWER GIRL team of Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray and artist extraordinaire Amanda Conner kick off a new story arc, "Space Girls Gone Wild!" with this issue, as a trio of sexy alien maraurders hit Earth for the ultimate party. Unfortunately, this galactic bender includes destroying the planet. Sounds like a certain Power Girl has to crash the festivities, no?

Check out a few pages below. POWER GIRL #4 hits 8/19.
