EMMY®-WINNING ROBOT CHICKEN UNVEILS DC COMICS SPECIAL

Creators/Executive Producers Seth Green and Matthew Senreich combine one of Adult Swim's highest-rated original shows with DC Comics most popular characters

Stars Green, Paul Reubens, Neil Patrick Harris, Breckin Meyer, Nathan Fillion, Alfred Molina & Megan Fox

First they tantalized you with three Emmy®-nominated Robot Chicken Star Wars specials, now Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, in partnership with DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, bring you the awesomeness of the DC Comics universe of characters as only Robot Chicken can, with amazing guest stars and the stop-motion sketch comedy you've come to love after five seasons of the popular Adult Swim series.

The all-star cast includes Green as Batman, Robin and the put-upon Aquaman, Paul Reubens as The Riddler, Neil Patrick Harris as Two-Face, Alfred Molina as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern, Megan Fox as Lois Lane, Breckin Meyer as Superman, plus Abe Benrubi, Alex Borstein, Clare Grant, Tara Strong, Senreich, Tom Root, and Zeb Wells.

Green said, "Having been raised on DC Comics and the Super Friends vs. Legion of Doom, it's exciting to tell a whole Robot Chicken story within this awesome universe."  Senreich adds, "We've been working with Geoff Johns for over 15 years, so playing together on this special only made it more fun to work in the worlds we all love so dearly."

The Robot Chicken DC Comics Special airs this Fall and features many Robot Chicken favorites including the Robot Chicken Nerd, the Humping Robot, Composite Santa, and the Mad Scientist who will be joined by the DC characters to poke fun at those with the most impressive powers and the lesser ones who can't really be called superheroes.

"Working with Seth and Matthew and the rest of the Robot Chicken crew has always been nothing short of insanity over the years. DC, Warner Bros. Animation and Adult Swim together? How could anyone resist?" said Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer.

“We’re thrilled to be working again with Seth and Matthew on another season of Robot Chicken and are particularly excited about this new special that features great iconic characters from DC Comics,” said Keith Crofford, vice president of production for Adult Swim.

Executive producers include Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, Warner Bros. Animation's Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs Sam Register, and Buddy Systems' John Harvatine IV and Eric Towner. Green directs the 22-minute special with a script by co-head writers/co-executive producers Douglas Goldstein and Tom Root along with Robot Chicken writers Green, Senreich, Mike Fasolo, Zeb Wells, Matthew Beans, and DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns, Franklin & Bash's Breckin Meyer and MAD's Kevin Shinick, who also serves as the narrator and with Ethan Marak, co-producer.

The Robot Chicken DC Comics Special marks the first new project since Stoopid Monkey and Buddy Systems joined forces in December to create Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. The state of the art production space produces their animated joint and individual projects including Stoopid Monkey, the popular YouTube live-action meets stop-motion animation show.

Robot Chicken won the 2010 Emmy® for Outstanding Animated Program Short Form along with many other Emmy® and Annie Awards. The show debuted in 2005 and continues to garner top ratings on Adult Swim.  The 100th episode of Robot Chicken aired earlier this year and the show's DVDs are among the best sellers in Adult Swim's home entertainment catalog.  Green and Senreich are also busy as consultants on Lucasfilm's animated Star Wars comedy series, and they also produce ControlTV, an online reality show. Green continues to record new episodes of Family Guy (as Chris Griffin), Fox’s hit animated comedy series that draws record ratings, and he recently wrapped leading roles in two indie films, Sexy Evil Genius, with Katee Sackhoff and The  Story of Luke with Lou Taylor Pucci.

UTA handled the deal for Green and Senreich, Green is additionally repped by David Weber of Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern and Trice Koopman of Koopman Management, Senreich and Johns by Allison Binder of Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson and Binder. Johns was also repped by Phil Raskind and Ari Greenburg at WME.  Harvatine and Towner were repped by The Gotham Group and attorney Bob Getman of Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein.

First Look at the cover for AQUAMAN #8

You’ve already seen artist Ivan Reis’ character designs for The Operative, Vostok-X and Ya’Wara as part of the lead-up to the launch of AQUAMAN’s new storyline, “The Others.” This Wednesday, the wait is over as “The Others” makes its inaugural splash in AQUAMAN #7.

“Aquaman vs. The Others! Ya’wara, the Operative, Vostok-X, P.O.W. -- if these are allies from Aquaman’s past, why is the Sea King in such terrible danger?” teased series editor Pat McCallum about the upcoming arc. “It’s a pivotal chapter in the story that will shatter Aquaman’s world!”

To continue the building excitement for “The Others,” take a first look below at the cover for AQUAMAN #8 by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado.

Get Your Photo Taken at the DC Entertainment Booth at WonderCon

Earlier today, we shared with you our panel schedule for WonderCon.

This morning, we’ve got more exciting things to share with you lucky people who will be attending WonderCon this weekend. At the DC Entertainment booth, we’ll have three different green screen backgrounds for you to take your picture in front of. For the first time, you’ll be able to have your photo taken with Alfred E. Neuman. You’ll also get a chance to have a picture of you snapped in front of the artwork of industry legend Jim Lee, DC Entertainment Co-Publisher and the artist of the bestselling JUSTICE LEAGUE. But that’s not all!

The first green screen background for you to take a picture in front of will be a mural of JUSTICE LEAGUE characters by some of your favorite artists from DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. Stand front and center with:

  • Aquaman (illustrated by Ardian Syaf)
  • Batman (illustrated by Andy Kubert)
  • Cyborg (illustrated by Gene Ha)
  • The Flash (illustrated by Francis Manapul)
  • Green Lantern (illustrated by Ivan Reis)
  • Superman (illustrated by Jim Lee)
  • Wonder Woman (illustrated by Adam Hughes)

The second green screen background to take your photo with is the image you’ve seen associated with the We Can Be Heroes campaign. Stand out in the Justice League against a silhouetted roster of the world’s greatest superheroes, as drawn by Jim Lee.

And if you’ve ever wanted to have your picture taken with MAD’s Alfred E. Neuman, now you finally have that chance. In the third green screen background, Alfred will be wearing his classic “I’m With Stupid” t-shirt and point to you! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to join the Usual Gang of Idiots over at MAD Magazine.

As always, you will be given physical print-outs of the photo as well as a unique digital redemption code so you can share the photos with family and friends and post them to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest and wherever else you desire.

Check out this gallery to take a peak at what the screens will look like and see you behind the cameras at booth #501 this weekend!

GEOFF JOHNS ON “THE OTHERS” IN AQUAMAN

“There isn't much we want to say yet about Ya'wara. She is a member of the Tapirape, an indigenous tribe of Brazil living in deep in the Amazon rainforest, she has a jaguar, she has a unique power and she has a connection with Aquaman that isn't going to make Mera very happy.

“There's much more to learn about the Others in our upcoming Aquaman arc - what binds them together and what forces them to undertake one final mission - and what revelations we'll reveal about Aquaman through these reluctant heroes.

"Plus, we haven't even talked villains yet...keep your eyes peeled for more.”

- Geoff Johns

GEOFF JOHNS ON “THE OTHERS” IN AQUAMAN

“Conceived in a controlled test aboard a Russian space station, the man known as Vostok-X was genetically designed to be the perfect cosmonaut. Heightened endurance, enhanced strength and intelligence and most importantly to the scientists overseeing the project, he was psychologically programmed through intense experimentation to embrace human isolationism. Vostok struggles with making emotional connections with other people.

“He is equipped with a jetpack that enables him to fly, though not at tremendous speeds, and a helmet that allows its wearer to breathe in any environment.

“Vostok-X was the tenth attempt at creating the perfect cosmonaut. The others are said not to have survived.

"Vostok-X has not been seen for years.”

- Geoff Johns

GEOFF JOHNS ON “THE OTHERS” IN AQUAMAN

Continuing the look at the Others, we get to the most secretive and connected of them all. He's known only as the Operative. His exact country of origin is unknown, but the Operative appears to have deep connections to every government on Earth. He's called in favors from the Mexican military, Russian Peacekeeping Forces and South African Freedom Fighters. He's gotten intel delivered to him from the FBI, China's MSS and the Internal Security Organization of Uganda.

When designing the Operative protecting his identity was the most important element to his uniform.

Other than Aquaman, the Operative is the only member of the Others who has never gone into hiding. The Operative never stops until the mission is won. And in his line of work the mission is never won.

- Geoff Johns
