Today’s Designing the New DCU 52 panel at SDCC

During today’s Designing the New DCU 52 panel at SDCC, attendees were invited to see how characters are designed to how they end up looking in the final pages of a comic book. Below, take a look at the art we showed during this presentation for such titles as ALL-STAR WESTERN, ANIMAL MAN, BATGIRL, BIRDS OF PREY, THE FLASH, GREEN ARROW, THE SAVAGE HAWKMAN, I, VAMPIRE, LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS, SUICIDE SQUAD, SUPERBOY, SUPERGIRL, SUPERMAN and TEEN TITANS.

With all these new villains, Arkham Asylum is going to need a new wing

This October, Gotham City will be overrun by new villains. In DETECTIVE COMICS, Batman will face the Gotham Ripper. In BATGIRL, Barbara Gordon will take on Mirror. Mysterious villains will be terrorizing Gotham in BATMAN, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT, BATWOMAN and NIGHTWING. And around the globe, evil takes new forms in BATWING and RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS. Can the Bat family defeat all these foes or is the fate of Gotham – and the world at large – permanently doomed?

Batgirl Flies Across the Pond

Upon being dispatched to London on a top-secret Batman Incorporated assignment, Stephanie Brown arrives only to learn that the actual Greenwich Mean has been stolen. As all of London literally grinds to a halt, it’s up to Batgirl and Squire to save the United Kingdom.

Joining writer Bryan Q. Miller on this storyline is artist Pere Perez. With a cover by Dustin Nguyen, BATGIRL #22 acts as a prelude to BATMAN INCORPORATED #9 and flies into stores today.

Stephanie Brown takes on the Reaper Melody in BATGIRL #21

After reluctantly taking on a sidekick (an unstable young man calling himself the Grey Ghost), Batgirl finds herself stuck in between a rock and, well, another rock at the beginning of BATGIRL #21. Not to mention there's a Reaper bent on putting an end to Stephanie's career once and for all...
