Bruce Timm makes his dramatic return to the world of DC Animation this week with the original movie, Justice League: Gods and Monsters. Set in an alternate universe designed from the ground up by Timm, Alan Burnett and the rest of the creative team, it’s a dark, but very compelling reimagining of comics’ premiere super hero team and one of the most original and exciting DC animated movies to date.
As bleak as Gotham City can seem, it’s always had at least one ray of light—Robin. The Boy Wonder has long kept Batman from becoming TOO dark of a Dark Knight with his optimism, energy and youthful exuberance. He’s the epitome of the young comic book sidekick—the one by which all others are measured.
