San Diego Comic-Con kicked off last night and DC Entertainment hit the ground running by debuting a staggering collection of Superman costumes in our interactive 4,500 square foot booth (#1915). The costumes on display span various incarnations of the Man of Steel on both the big and small screens, and have been donned by actors including Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, and Henry Cavill.
This week saw the eagerly anticipated release of BATMAN/SUPERMAN #1. In the second issue of this exciting and all-new series, the Dark Knight and Man of Steel will be brought to Earth 2 in an attempt to find out which of the two is stronger – and bringing them there will be none other than Trickster, who you may have spotted in the final panel of issue #1.
If you’ve been frequenting the DC Comics website recently, you may have noticed that there’s been a lot of coverage regarding a certain super-powered Kryptonian with incredible strength and durability, a Man of Steel, if you will.
It’s like we’re the Daily Planet up in here with all this Superman stuff, amirite? Which, really, why would we not want to be the Daily Planet? They’ve got the best reporters, exclusives regarding super-heroes, and a guy who is simply committed to bringing back the bowtie in a non-ironic fashion.
For the last 75 years, the story of Superman has been carefully crafted by hundreds of writers and artists, each making their own contribution to this iconic character’s rich history. Starting this Wednesday in the pages of the all new series BATMAN/SUPERMAN, it will be writer Greg Pak’s turn to add to the legend of Krypton’s last son.
