If you’ve been following us on Twitter or Facebook, you’ve probably noticed that there’s been a huge outpouring of press in reaction to the shocking conclusion of BATMAN AND ROBIN #16. It all started early yesterday, as THE ASSOCIATED PRESS broke the news that (stop reading now if you haven’t picked up the issue) Bruce Wayne had been secretly funding Batman for years, and would expand his funding and launch BATMAN INCORPORATED in an interview with the man behind it all, writer Grant Morrison.

With that, we were off to the races. DC Comics Editor in Chief Bob Harras did a number of interviews, including chats with USA TODAY, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, CNN’s MARQUEE BLOG, TIME TECHLAND, AOL COMICS ALLIANCE, THE L.A. TIMES' HERO COMPLEX, COMIC BOOK RESOURCES, NEWSARAMA and IO9.

And in case you missed it, WIRED’s Scott Thill had an epic, engaging and all-around interesting interview with Morrison, which is a must-read for fans of the man’s work. Also, the issue's been getting raves -- with glowing reviews at POP MATTERS and IGN to kick things off.

• This morning, we unveiled a first look at SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE, and the reaction was strong and positive, with pickup from WIRED, AOL COMICS ALLIANCE, THE BEAT, COMIC BOOK RESOURCES, IGN, NEWSARAMA and iFANBOY. That Shane Davis sure can draw, huh?

• THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR spotlighted the recent news of Dick Grayson sticking around as one of two Batmen.

• NEWSARAMA spoke to Batman Group Editor Mike Marts about the decision and the overall landscape of the Bat-books later this year.

• And SPIKE TV announced the nominees for the 2010 SCREAM AWARDS, which include our very own Geoff Johns and J.H. Williams III.

Well, that was a doozy of an issue, wasn’t it? The final page of BATMAN AND ROBIN #12 not only capped off an exciting run of issues by writer Grant Morrison and artist Andy Clarke, but also marked the return of a long-missed and unexpected character. Yup. The Joker stands unmasked. Grant’s done a masterful job of having the Clown Prince of Crime’s presence felt throughout his run on BATMAN AND ROBIN and BATMAN before that, so it was only a matter of time before he crossed paths with Dick Grayson and Damian directly.
