When we announced The New 52 back in 2012, the focus was understandably on the comics. Fifty-two first issues is an impressive feat. But it didn’t take long for The New 52 to permeate into other areas of the business, like DC Collectibles. After all, we love reading and watching super heroes fight, but we’re not ashamed to admit that we still like making them fight and there’s no better way to do that than with a nice set of action figures. (You could do it with our statues as well, but we REALLY don’t recommend that. Seriously, don’t.
It’s here! The final day of Comic-Con! *sniff* Yes, all good things must come to an end, but there’s still much to experience, particularly for families. This morning, the mad minds behind Teen Titans Go! will screen a new episode and discuss the show’s new season. Also, attendees can meet the hosts of DC All Access, Blair and Tiffany, as they take to the SDCC stage in the DC Entertainment All Access: 101 panel. Let’s finish off Comic-Con in style!
Saturday is traditionally the biggest day at San Diego Comic-Con, and it’s easy to see why. Hall H is jumping and the biggest names in film, TV and comics are all in attendance. This year, DC Entertainment will completely take over Hall H at night as Stephen Amell hosts a three-hour look at our fall TV offerings, including the World Premiere of Gotham.
As Comic-Con enters its second full day, the weekend finally begins. Fans by the thousands will pass through the DC Entertainment booth over the next few days, enjoying all of the Batman costumes, products and imagery on display (you saw the hidden Batman v Superman image, right?). Many will line up to get comics signed by Jim Lee, Geoff Johns, John Romita, Jr. and more, or to snap photos with some of the awesome DC Comics cosplayers at the show.
This year, Batman’s stepping out of the shadows…and into the Comic-Con spotlight. With his 75th Anniversary going strong, Batman is a major presence at San Diego Comic-Con. He’s been seen in comics, film, TV, games, toys and clothing, and it’s all represented within the DC Entertainment booth, particularly in the Batman 75th Anniversary montage wall created for the show. Within this wall, you can spot many images of the Dark Knight, both old and in some cases very new.
As in never before seen.
The first day of Comic-Con has arrived and perhaps the biggest question most attendees are facing is where to start. With so much amazing stuff on display, there’s something to be discovered around every turn. Perhaps a panel or two? There are some great DC Comics ones today, such as DC Digital: Download This! and Batman 75: Legends of the Dark Knight, a spectacular Batman anniversary panel featuring Frank Miller, Grant Morrison, Scott Snyder and more!
