Exclusive Preview of DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS #19

It’s the final issue of DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS!

Fans have already seen characters such as Deadman, The Challengers of the Unknown, Vandal Savage, Kid Flash, OMAC, Mister Terrific, Hawk & Dove, Blackhawks, Black Lightning and Blue Devil, Arsenal, and Starfire take center stage in this anthology-style series. And on stands this Wednesday, this month’s issue continues the Beowulf tale previously seen as a backup story in the pages of SWORD OF SORCERY!

In DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS #19, Beowulf finds himself displaced in time as he travels from a dystopian future and arrives in contemporary New York City. There, he encounters Professor Gwendolyn Pierce, who guides him through the foreign city he thought had stopped existing long ago. Together, they seek the púca, a shapeshifter who Beowulf must defeat in order to put a final stop to Grendel’s mother’s devious plan. But when the púca begins to transform into various members of the Justice League, will Beowulf be able to stop her and return home in time?

DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS #19 is written by Tony Bedard and illustrated by Javier Pina. Look for the issue when it hits stores tomorrow!

Exclusive Preview of DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS #18

This week in DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS, writer Joe Keatinge and artist Federico Dallocchio continue to spotlight everyone’s favorite Outlaws by putting Starfire center stage in her own solo adventure!

In “Without Honor or Humanity,” Starfire travels to a far off planet to liberate a group of imprisoned villagers. But will they be willing to accept her help? Or will Koriand’r cause more problems than she could ever imagine?

“After working with illustrator Ricken on our Arsenal issue, I got the bug to do more with the Outlaws, so getting the immediate opportunity to work with illustrator Federico Dallocchio on Starfire is very, very ideal,” Keatinge recently told THE SOURCE. “Even better, she's a character I've liked for a long time now, especially in the classic Wolfman/Perez Titans era. Shining a solo spotlight to where she's at now in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 is something I'm very enthusiastic about.”

DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS #18 goes on sale tomorrow!

Today marks the release of the third week of DC Comics’ #0 issues. Each of these special issues is filled with everything from secrets to revelations to origin stories. These will both explain what happened before the launch of DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 last summer, as well as plant seeds for future story arcs!

If you’ve already picked up your #0 issues today, you’ve probably noticed that in the back of each book (and now online!) is a Who’s Who entry on a major character in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. These pages share information such as each character’s first appearance, base of operations, powers, history, and other appearances. Below, check out the list of which character is being spotlighted on each of this week’s releases and be sure to click on their names to read up on who they are!
