Preview Monday: SWORD OF SORCERY #8 and FABLES #129

Welcome back for another installment of Preview Monday! This week you’re getting exclusive first looks at SWORD OF SORCERY #8 and FABLES #129.

After Eclipso’s brutal return, House Amethyst teeters on the brink of destruction as his sinister army stands at its gates! With House Onyx and House Diamond already under the sway of Eclipso, Amethyst may have no choice but to join with some of her oldest foes to battle the Lord of the Black Diamond. Preview Monday: WONDER WOMAN #19 and FABLES #128

Welcome back for another installment of Preview Monday! This week, we’re giving you exclusive first looks at WONDER WOMAN #19 and FABLES #128!

This month, WONDER WOMAN launches an explosive new story arc. “Don’t miss issue #19,” writer Brian Azzarello teased to COMIC VINE about the series a few weeks ago. “I don’t think Superman would approve.” Well when BUZZFEED exclusively debuted the full gatefold cover for WONDER WOMAN #19 depicting Diana and Orion in a passionate liplock, fans began to understand what Azzarello might have been alluding to. Also in WONDER WOMAN #19, Poseidon shares a piece of information with the First Born that puts Zola’s son in immediate danger. But will Wonder Woman and her army be able to protect him when her team is unraveling from the inside out? Find out in WONDER WOMAN #19, in stores on Wednesday, written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Goran Sudzuka, Tony Akins, and Dan Green.

Meanwhile over in Fablestown, “Snow White” continues with its fourth chapter. In FABLES #128, Bigby howls back to Castle Dark for a showdown with Prince Brandish for the hand of his/their wife, Snow White. But unbeknownst to Bigby, any physical harm that he inflicts on Prince Brandish will also be felt by Snow White, who remains locked away in her tower. Will Bigby be able to save his wife before he accidentally kills her? Or will Prince Brandish defeat the mighty wolf? In stores this Wednesday, FABLES #128 is written by Bill Willingham and illustrated by Mark Buckingham, Steve Leialoha, and Andrew Pepoy.

DC Collectibles Reveals new FABLES Bookends Exclusively at FablesCon

Today at FablesCon, DC Collectibles revealed the perfect collector’s item for fans of the award-winning Vertigo series written by Bill Willingham.  Fans will be able to display their favorite graphic novels between a set of magnificent bookends designed by acclaimed FABLES artist Mark Buckingham and sculpted by Mike Locascio.  The bookends will be available in 2014 and depict the heroes and villains from the bestselling series. These intricately sculpted bookends are the perfect complement to any FABLES fan's collection.

Preview Monday: BIRDS OF PREY #18 and FABLES #127

If we’ve learned anything from Fables, it’s that not every tale has a happy ending. But fortunately, yours can. Especially if you’re a Bill Willingham or Fables fan.

 

Today marks the release of FABLES #122, which tells the story of “The Destiny Game,” an action-packed, surprising tale written by Bill Willingham and drawn by guest artist Gene Ha. It looks into the matter of fate and how it plays out in the Fables universe, which is an interesting subject considering that one lucky Fables fan out there is about change theirs.

 

At San Diego Comic-Con last summer, we had Bill Willingham sign the below card. And as a little tribute to this new issue and the 121 that preceded it, we’re giving it away.

 

 

Since it’s hard to get a sense of scale from that photo, you should know that this no pocket card. It’s 11” by 14” and is made of heavy, thick card stock. It’s a great piece for framing and you’re sure to enjoy telling the story about how you won it to your friends. But until you’ve actually claimed the prize, the tale is incomplete. Here’s how to ensure that you get your happy ending:
