A FANtastic Moment...

Superman has defeated villains like Lex Luthor and Brainiac, survived his home planet’s destruction and kept ours safe from harm for over eighty years. Batman has defeated armies of undead assassins, kept some of the most destructive criminals in check and fought otherworldly threats alongside the Justice League—and he does all this without super powers.

And yet, neither of them could have achieved their most recent accomplishments on their own. They needed each and every one of you.

This week, Batman passed 8 million likes on his official Facebook page. Superman passed 4 million. And DC Comics hit the 1 million mark.

We wanted to celebrate these great accomplishments by celebrating the people who made them possible—the fans. Today, the cover photo on all three Facebook pages has been updated with new art commemorating the milestone and thanking the fans for making it possible.

But that’s just the start. Throughout this week and beyond, keep an eye out for this logo:

We’ll be using it to flag special “FANtastic Moments” on all three Facebook pages and right here on DCComics.com. Some of these will be posts, photo galleries, articles and other great content driven by fans. Some will be giveaways and cool stuff that we’ve put together for our fans as a thank you for helping us hit these milestones.

In fact, you can find your very first FANtastic Moment right here! In honor of Batman reaching 8 million, we’re offering a free digital download of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s BATMAN #1 for the next 24 hours.

If you want it, just follow this link: www.readdcentertainment.com/redeem

Enjoy your free comic and thanks a million (8 million!) for being such great fans.

Get Heard at WonderCon

In just two weeks, we’ll be coming at you live from WonderCon in sunny California. For those lucky enough to attend the convention, there will be lots of exciting announcements, sneak peeks and more that we’ll be sharing with you.

But even if you can’t make it to the Anaheim Convention Center to experience WonderCon in person, we want to involve you in what’ll be going on at the show.

Today and tomorrow, we’ll be posting “Open Thread” updates to the DC Comics Facebook page, one for each scheduled panel. There you can leave the question you would want to ask if you were able to wait in line for a turn at the microphone. We’ll pick a couple of the questions we receive on Facebook and have the panelists address them so you can have your voice heard regardless of where you are.

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to DC Comics’ official Facebook page and kick off your celebration of WonderCon 2012 today!
