New on Google+: Preview The Flash #3!

Yesterday we announced the launch of our DC Comics Google+ Page, something we were among the first companies to get a chance to create. We kicked that off with a preview of Batman #3 from writer Scott Snyder and today we've got even more good stuff for you there.

The Flash has realized that his Speed Force-fueled powers didn't come with an instruction manual. There's no reference guide he can turn to and learn that, hey, he can create tiny vortexes with his arms that can keep someone - or something - aloft. So his life is a lot of trial and error. Now he's learned that not only does the Speed Force allow his body to move super-fast, it can also allow his mind to move faster than a normal persons. But it's still a learning-as-he-goes situation that's taking some getting used to.

On the DC Comics Google+ Page today we have a preview of The Flash #3 from Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato that show Barry Allen still getting a grip on just what his new fast-thinking abilities can do while also continuing to deal with situations that require his physical powers. Can he get the his brain and his body both moving at the same speed?

You'll find The Flash #3 on sale Wednesday 11/23 both digitally and in print. Visit Read.DCComics.com for more information and stay tuned to our DC Comics Google+ Page for more as we continue to experiment with this exciting new platform.

DC Entertainment Comes to Google+

We're thrilled to announce this morning that DC Entertainment is among the handful of companies providing an early example of Google's new Google+ Pages. If you're a Google+ user - and you are if you use Gmail, you just need to build your profile there if you haven't already - you can follow DC Comics there by adding us to a "Circle" of your choosing.

To get our DC Comics Google+ Page off on the right foot we're sharing an exclusive preview of Batman #3 from superstar writer Scott Snyder over there. Batman is diving deeper into the mysterious Court of Owls that has always been thought of as a myth to the citizens of Gotham City, so much so there's a nursery rhyme about them:

Beware the Court of Owls

That watches all the time,

And rules Gotham from shadowed perch,

behind granite and lime.

They watch you at your hearth,

They watch you in your bed,

Speak not a whispered word of them,

Or they'll send the TALON for your head.

Who is this mysterious Court of Owls? And what danger will they pose to Batman as he investigates the truth behind the legend? Find out in Batman #3, on sale November 16th both in print and as a digital download. Visit Read.DCComics.com for more on how to enjoy DC Comics titles in print, online or on mobile devices.

We're excited to explore Google+ Pages as another way to connect with our wonderful, passionate fans and build relationships with you all there in a new and interesting fashion. Keep an eye on our Page in the coming days as we offer more exclusive content there.

In addition to the previously mentioned Fallon bit, the San Diego coverage is slowly rolling in, and we've got the first bunch of cool links for you here. Because that's what we do, no?

• Newsarama's Vaneta Rogers talked to DC President and Publisher Paul Levitz and SVP of Sales and Marketing Steve Rotterdam about DC's presence on Google.com last week. She also chatted up writer Matt Sturges about the newly-announced JSA ALL STARS series.

• IO9's Graeme MacMillan covered a lot of ground in this must-read interview with our very own Dan DiDio.

• G4 anchor and star of BOOSTER GOLD #23's cover, Blair Butler talked to Senior Story Editor Ian Sattler to get the lowdown on all things DCU and also got a very special souvenir from Paul Levitz.

We'll post more as the hits continue to appear, including Dan on a yacht. Stay tuned.

Google just got a little more ‘super’

You may have noticed something very…familiar when you visited Google this morning.

If you haven't, check out the lovely piece of Jim Lee art you see above inked by Scott Williams with colors by Alex Sinclair, featuring some notable DC faces - Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Batman, Robin and Plastic Man. They will be adorning the Google homepage as the doodle for the day, in conjunction with the first full day of San Diego Comic-Con and Google's launch of their comic themes for iGoogle.

Pretty neat, huh?
