A sneak peek at DOC SAVAGE #6

We’ll be hearing from both Brian Azzarello and co-writer Ivan Brandon about what they’ve got in store for the Man of Bronze soon enough, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t tease some of the amazing artwork Nic Klein is cranking out. DOC SAVAGE #6, which hits next month, kicks off a new arc co-written by Azzarello and Brandon with Klein on art, making for an ideal jumping on point. Now make with the clicking below.

DC brings back key war titles in September

The DC offices are closed today, so posting will be light. And, I should be well on my ways to a few days of rest in the Florida Keys as you read this. But we do have one cool bit of news for you to carry you through this Memorial Day weekend.

This September, DC will bring back a number of familiar war titles in a series of one shots from a number of the best and brightest creators in the industry, including Darwyn Cooke and Ivan Brandon on WEIRD WAR TALES, B. Clay Moore and Chad Hardin on OUR FIGHTING FORCES, the return of OUR ARMY AT WAR, William Tucci and Justiniano on STAR-SPANGLED WAR STORIES and Matt Surges and artist Phil Winslade on G.I. COMBAT, with each issue sporting a cover from an A-list pool of artists that include Cooke, Mark Schultz, Geof Darrow, Joe Kubert and Brian Bolland.

Not enough for you? Well, here’s a first look at the WEIRD WAR TALES #1 cover by Cooke and G.I. COMBAT from Darrow.

Have a great weekend.

And because you demanded it C2E2 will be host to a DC talent search (information can be found at the DC booth).

Did I mention that we'll be giving away tons of great stuff at the panels and at the booth? Well we will be so make sure to come and see us as soon as you get to the show. And just so you know I am very, very excited to be just hours away from eating Chicago-style deep dish pizza. I will also totally not be bummed by whatever you guys decide to bring to the panels.

Our friends with the doughnuts in Seattle are still in the lead for this year's convention season but I'm thinking Chicago might have something up their sleeves...

Welcome to NEMESIS: THE IMPOSTORS

For Thomas Andrew Tresser, aka Nemesis, the world of metahuman espionage is never what it seems. After his recent "reeducation" at the hands of the Global Peace Agency, Nemesis finds himself thrust back into the real world with enemies seemingly around every corner. Tasked with uncovering the truth about his mission and the true identities of those hoping to unleash a great evil on the world, Nemesis is forced to confront the fact that he may not be able to trust anybody in the universe – including himself.

NEMESIS: THE IMPOSTORS #1, courtesy of writer Ivan Brandon and artist Cliff Richards, hits 3/3.

The DC NATION tour is hitting Heroes Con -- see you there?

hc-logo_cmyk

Circle June 19-21 on your calendars, gang -- DC NATION is making a stop at the Heroes Convention in Charlotte this year.

Sadly -- or thankfully, for some -- I won't be there personally, but we'll have an impressive lineup of creators holding court at Shelton Drum's event, including Mark Bagley, Ivan Brandon, Bernard Chang, Cully Hamner, Scott Hampton, Adam Hughes, Jamal Igle, Georges Jeanty, Dustin Nguyen, Steve Niles, Phil Noto, George Perez, Stephane Roux, Brian Stelfreeze, Jen Van Meter and a ton more. Senior Story Editor Ian Sattler will also be the ringmaster for any and all panels, so make a point to stop in to hear the latest bits of DCU info.

While you're there, make a point to stop by the DC booth to say hi and pick up some free swag. Free stuff is cool. It makes people happy.

Want to ESCAPE? This is probably not what you had in mind

Talk about a terrible way to wake up. Imagine opening your eyes and realizing you're a prisoner of the Global Peace Agency, inside the walls of Electric City. That's Nemesis' new status quo, and it isn't exactly a vacation. Trapped with members of the superhuman intelligence community and subjected to systematic torture, can Nemesis escape? Can he even find anyone he can trust? Probably not, but it'll make for good reading. Here's a preview of FINAL CRISIS AFTERMATH: ESCAPE #1, which hits 5/13.
