Exclusive Preview of THE SHADE #7

Following the suicides of his acolytes, The Inquisitor’s plan to unleash hell on Earth is one step closer to being executed. Together, the Shade, La Sangre and Montpellier must stop him before the lives of the twenty-five innocent people he’s captured are lost. And when The Inquisitor reveals the truth about his enigmatic identity, the trio will need to find one last puzzle piece to defeat him.

“I'm excited for issue #7 to come out for a lot of reasons,” series writer James Robinson told THE SOURCE. “It wraps up the Barcelona arc with Javier Pulido, a story that I've loved working on, and which I'm really gratified to see readers have enjoyed along with the introduction of the vampire super-heroine La Sangre. Here in this final issue we finally learn the Inquisitor's grand scheme and see the Shade using his powers to the Nth degree, both important pieces of what will eventually combine into the overall grand story line of all 12 issues. I'm also happy that the issue serves to both set up issue #8's ‘Times Past’ story with art by Jill Thompson as well as having a cliffhanger ending that leads us into the ‘London arc’ beginning in issue #9 with art by Frazer Irving. This is a labor of love for me, so a big thank you to all the readers who've supported this book.”

THE SHADE #7, written by James Robinson and illustrated by Javier Pulido, goes on sale tomorrow. Click here to see an exclusive preview of the issue.

Javier Pulido on his variant cover for THE SHADE #7

Earlier today, we showed you Dale Keown’s variant cover for GREEN LANTERN #8. This afternoon, we’ve got another exclusive variant cover for you to take a gander at. Below, check out the variant cover for THE SHADE #7 by the issue’s artist, Javier Pulido.

“The theme of the cover is the dark crescendo which we build to in this issue,” Pulido told THE SOURCE. “In James’ words, it’s the most spectacular display of Shade's powers in his ‘entire tawdry, errant existence.’ So that's the goal – giving a glimpse of the interiors in the shape of a (hopefully) catchy image.”

THE SHADE #7, written by James Robinson and illustrated by Javier Pulido, hits stands on April 11th.

Joining them is Montpellier, La Sangre’s “sometimes partner in crime.” Can the three of them stop The Inquisitor before more lives are lost? And what do new revelations about The Inquisitor reveal about The Shade’s original mission to collect a sample of his own blood?
