This Just Happened: Justice League: Generation Lost #22

There are times when writing about the events in a comic book that one can’t say too much for fear of spoiling the story. Such is the case with JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST issue 22, written by Judd Winick and with art by Joe Bennett, Jack Jadson, & Ruy Jose, available in comic book stores and digitally today. There’s a major reveal in the first three pages, so if you haven’t already read your copy, then whatever you do, don’t click on the “jump” for (spoiler alert!) commentary by Judd Winick and preview pages.

"Many readers thought we were really killing off Blue Beetle. And that doesn't surprise me. We tried pretty hard to make that seem like it was truly the case. But MOST importantly, it was about the characters experiencing Jaime's death. It was much needed calm before the storm. And in finding out that he's still among the living, it's the kick in the butt they need to get them to finish this. The end is near. And the readers will really, REALLY, want to see how this all plays out." – Judd Winick.[gallery link="file" order="DESC" columns="2"]

The GENERATION LOST crew are in desperate need of a morale Boost

Following the loss of Blue Beetle, the JLI faces their darkest hour in JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST #21. Captain Atom is still haunted by the thousands that died in Chicago, and now Booster has lost confidence in their mission just as it begins to approach its climax. If only something could jolt them back into action...

JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST #21 is on sale today in comic shops and in our digital store.

It's hard to imagine someone capable of such evil acts as anything but a villain, but the cover to JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST #20 poses the question: "Max Lord: Villain... Or Hero?"

Next Wednesday's issue takes a look into Max Lord's past and explains the reason he's made it his life's work to eliminate metahumans.

DCU in 2011: Judd Winick teases the end of JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST

Judd Winick's JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST is approaching its final act, and he's given The Source a few hints at what's coming in the final seven issues... and at what will come afterward.

Here's what he gave us:

"No story is any good without a killer ending. It’s what we remember most. And after 24 issues of JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST, after 24 issues of super heroics, super villainy, old friends, new allies, mass amnesia, nuclear explosions, and many, many, many nose bleeds, this story is coming to an end. And the ending -- is a killer. Wanna know what Max Lord’s master plan has TRULY been? You got it. Wanna see a knock down, drag out, city wide, catastrophe level, fight with the Justice League International and a few EXTREMELY powerful buddies along for the ride? It’s in here. Wanna see if Max Lord is actually going to kill Wonder Wonder? Wanna see what Bruce Wayne has to say about it? Do you want all the answers to all the questions, see the good guys face the bad, and watch Booster Gold hit Max Lord in the face a whole lot? Then you need to read the end of Generation Lost. It’s where it’s all going to end and then so much more will begin."
