A few links of note for Monday

It's Monday, and you've surely spent the weekend away from your computer. Right? Well, even if you haven't, here are a few things you may want to click on between coffee and personal e-mail breaks.

Made it, ma! Top of the world.

• AIN'T IT COOL NEWS was in a Geoff Johns state of mind, with kind words for GREEN LANTERN #40: "GREEN LANTERN is a great comic."

• IGN unveils a first look at BATTLE FOR THE COWL #3.

• NEWSARAMA's Troy Brownfield talks up the first issue of POWER GIRL in their regular BEST SHOTS column: "Frankly, I enjoyed this issue quite a bit. It came off as good fun."

Enjoy a few pages from POWER GIRL #1

Some of you saw a few of these pages in the back of select DCU titles recently, and we've shown some amazing Amanda Conner inked artwork and covers (not to mention those cool Guillem March variants) -- but it's high time we showcase final pages from the first issue of POWER GIRL here on The Source. Writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti team with the very talented Amanda Conner to launch everyone's favorite Earth-2 Kryptonian into her very own ongoing series. But enough from me. Click on these pages.

POWER GIRL #1 hits 5/6.

Check out some POWER GIRL variant covers

We all know Amanda Conner is the artistic draw when it comes to the new POWER GIRL ongoing series, which pairs her with the writing team of Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti. But the series also shows off some nifty variant covers -- the first two, from Adam Hughes are out there, but here are two more, for issues #3 and 4, this time from GOTHAM CITY SIRENS artist Guillem March. Nice, huh?

A second look at POWER GIRL

Here at The Source, we like to keep our promises. And, as some of you might recall, we mentioned inked pages from POWER GIRL #1 on Friday. For whatever reason, the blogging gods were not on our side that day, so you only got to see the cover to POWER GIRL #3 and the sketch cover to #1. Now, that's plenty, but we'd feel almost malicious if we didn't eventually share with you those promised inked pages. What better time than a Monday, as you hunker down for a week's worth of work, or a week's worth of checking your home email and reading blogs? Either/or. What matters is you have some Amanda Conner goodness to help kick off your week.

A first look at POWER GIRL

Later this month, you've seen preview pages from the first issue of POWER GIRL #1 in the pages of select DCU titles. The new series, by writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti and artist Amanda Conner, brings Power Girl into her long-awaited solo debut. But why stop with one preview, really? You can never get too much Amanda Conner art. Since it's Friday and we want everyone to head into the weekend with a grin on their respective faces, and because there really is never an excuse NOT to show off pages that look this good, we present you with a first-look at the cover to POWER GIRL #3, a cover sketch to POWER GIRL #1 and some lovely inked interiors from the first issue. Now, click away, and enjoy your two days of freedom. If you do that sort of thing.
