The Man of Steel revisits the 1970’s

The untold story of how Mr. Mxyzptlk used Superman’s own emotions against him is revealed in DC RETRO-ACTIVE: SUPERMAN-THE '70s. In this all-new story by Martin Pasko, Eduardo Barreto and Christian Duce, Superman learns the hard way that without rest, even he can start to slip up. Artist for RETROACTIVE: SUPERMAN – THE ‘70s #1: Eduardo Barretto

Last week, we announced RETROACTIVE. Today, we’ll take a trip back to the 70’s and tell you a little more about each title and reveal what artists will be joining the creative teams of the previously announced writers. All the 70’s titles will hit stands in late July, and as we mentioned before, each of these new 26-page stories will be followed by a classic story from that era by the same writer.

RETRO-ACTIVE Writers and Concept Announced

This past weekend at WonderCon, VP of Sales, Bob Wayne, announced RETRO-ACTIVE. Published throughout July and August 2011, these are exactly the kinds of one-shots people often associate with summer. RETRO-ACTIVE reunites classic writers and artists with classic characters Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Justice League of America, returning to the interpretations they are best known for. Each of these series will have 3 one-shots that pay homage respectively to the‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s.
