This Just Happened: It's Alive!

SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read BATMAN AND RED ROBIN #19 and do not wish to know what happens, stop reading this post now (major spoilers ahead!)

From the creative team of writer Peter J. Tomasi and artist Patrick Gleason, BATMAN AND RED ROBIN #19 continues The Dark Knight’s long road of coming to terms with the death of his son, Damian.

Last issue, Tomasi created a stunning requiem for Damian in the form of a completely silent issue, accompanied by Gleason’s unforgettable artwork. Now, Batman begins his journey of discovery and recovery with the help of his allies.

It all begins with Bruce Wayne (a.k.a. Batman)’s discovery of a note for Damian from a mysterious red headed girl who signs her name as C.K. After reading the note, Bruce sets off to find out more about this girl that his son evidently wished to keep a secret.

Once he meets Carrie Kelley face to face, Bruce becomes visibly upset and decides to leave Gotham. But when he doesn’t return home or check in for over six days, Alfred begins to worry.

After locating him, Alfred contacts Tim Drake (a.k.a. Red Robin) for help. Red Robin agrees to visit Batman in an undisclosed Arctic hide-out, and try to bring him back to Gotham.

Alfred isn’t sure what Bruce is doing in the arctic, but Red Robin is about to find out when he reaches the ancient castle that matches the coordinates that Alfred gave him.

Red Robin explores the castle in search of his former mentor, but what he discovers is something he was never prepared for.

Batman is not alone in the castle, Frankenstein, an agent of S.H.A.D.E., is right beside him. On an operating table!

Looks like Batman has a lot of explaining to do…

Take a look at Red Robin’s discovery of Batman’s little secret. How far is the Dark Knight willing to go to bring back Damian? Place your bets in the comments section below, and find out what happens next by reading the rest of BATMAN AND RED ROBIN #19, in stores now!
