Writer Christopher Yost and artist Ramon Bachs conclude the first RED ROBIN arc with a bang, as Red Robin's search leads him to the deserts of the Middle East with the League of Assassins by his side. How many lines will Tim Drake cross to prove that Bruce Wayne lives? And as one journey ends, a deadlier one begins as Red Robin learns the truth -- but will he survive long enough to tell anyone about it? RED ROBIN #4 hits on 9/9. [gallery link="file"]
Not too long ago, we announced that Marcus To would be taking over the duties as the regular artist on RED ROBIN, pairing him with writer Chris Yost to tell the ongoing adventures of Tim Drake. But that can't be enough, can it? So, to help you get that much closer to Friday, here's a look at the cover to RED ROBIN #7, from To.
Counting down the hours until the weekend? Aren't we all? Well, we've got some news and art for you, so time can crawl by a bit faster. Starting in November with RED ROBIN #6, Marcus To (Aspen's Soulfire) will step in as the new ongoing artist on RED ROBIN, taking over for Ramon Bachs, who steps over to launch AZRAEL with writer Fabian Nicieza. And, in lieu of me saying nice things about Marcus, I've cornered his editor, Michael Marts to give us the skinny on why Mr. To is the perfect choice to chronicle the continuing adventures of Tim Drake. Take it away, Marts:
The new Red Robin continues to scour the globe in search of clues that will help him determine the final fate of Bruce Wayne, in the pages of the new hit series from writer Chris Yost and artist Ramon Bachs. But Red Robin's search might get a little complicated with the League of Assassins after him, don't you think? What does Ra's al Ghul want with Red Robin? Why are members of the League of Assassins being targeted for death? And what happened to the life Red Robin left behind? Spoiler guest-stars in the second chapter of the four-part "The Grail" story arc.
And Mark Chiarello knows this. So, as is our habit, we cornered the DC Art Director to pick out some covers from our coming September books to show them off here. Less talk. More art. Happy Friday. [gallery link="file" columns="4"]
In a few short days, the final chapter of BATTLE FOR THE COWL hits the stands and the entire world will learn the identity of the new Batman. It’s a journey long in the making and it’s hard to believe all the hard work from all of our creators is finally paying off on the printed page. But we’re not wasting any time resting on our butts. Nope, we’re diving straight into the next exciting phase of the Dark Knight’s life, an era which reflects the new world order for Gotham City and its favorite protector--BATMAN REBORN.
Everyone loves a good mystery. There are plenty happening in the Batman universe these days, too. Who will be Batman once BATTLE FOR THE COWL concludes? We're not telling, obviously. Another mystery? Who's this Red Robin guy that's getting his own ongoing in June? Again, we're not telling. But we can fan the flames a bit. Here are a few pages from the second issue, in pencil form, from artist Ramon Bachs, who's teaming with writer Chris Yost. Oh, and the cover to RED ROBIN #3, hitting in August. Take a guess.
