This week, hosts Tiffany Smith and Blair Herter discuss Dark Knights with Dan DiDio, get a glimpse of a future episode of Teen Titans Go! and the landmark 100th episode of the MAD animated series, talk Trillium and Green Arrow with Jeff Lemire and stage an impromptu Forever Evil reenactment at LA’s Comikaze. Check it out!
On Saturday in Toronto, Jeff Lemire (Trillium, Green Arrow, Animal Man, "Trinity War") was honored as the winner of the Joe Shuster Award for Best Cartoonist/Auteur for his work on Sweet Tooth #29-40 (DC Comics) and The Underwater Welder (Top Shelf).
Established in 2004, The Joe Shuster Awards are Canada’s first national and bilingual award recognizing outstanding achievement in the creation of comic books, graphic novels and webcomics.
When it comes to defying expectations, look no further than Vertigo.
A mature readers imprint of DC Comics, Vertigo has long upheld a standard of mind-bendingly awesome storytelling with such award-winning classics like V for Vendetta, Hellblazer, Preacher, 100 Bullets, Fables, Y: The Last Man, Neil Gaiman's Sandman (all of which easily rank as some of our favorite comic series of all time), and so much more.
Yes, we know. You’re hungry for more “Trinity War.” Believe us, so are we, and the next installment will be here soon (next week, as a matter of fact). But that doesn’t mean that we’re taking a break this week. No, if you’re following “Trinity War,” then you definitely want to pick up TRINITY OF SIN: THE PHANTOM STRANGER #11 this week for a key part of the story. Who truly murdered Doctor Light?
There's a lot of things we love, like comic books and toys and ice cream and cookies and naptime. We share a lot of similar interests with children, apparently. But we also love our creators. No, we’re not referring to our literal creators. We’re not talking about the people who built us. Which isn’t to suggest that we're super intelligent robots slowly bidding our time before the inevitable robot uprising or anything like that...
Arriving in 2013, Vertigo will publish TRILLIUM, a limited series written and illustrated by the incomparable Jeff Lemire (Sweet Tooth, Animal Man, Justice League Dark, Essex County Trilogy, Ghosts).
