Sam Kieth is a native Californian who broke into the comic book business by getting attention for co-creating and illustrating THE SANDMAN for DC Comics. Kieth went on to work for Marvel Comics, where he illustrated Wolverine covers and stories for Marvel Comics Presents. In 1993, Kieth left Marveland DC, creating his own character, The Maxx, for Image Comics. The Maxx MTV animated series went on to win an Annecy award for Best Animated series in 1995. More recently, Kieth produced the critically acclaimed Zero Girl for Homage Comics.
