Will Oa be enveloped by the BLACKEST NIGHT?

Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason pull out all the stops for GREEN LANTERN CORPS #40, as BLACKEST NIGHT continues and the battle on Oa rages on. The honored, fallen Corps members and the recently deceased Sciencell convicts are now bloodthirsty Black Lanterns -- and they won't rest until the bloody hearts and minds of the GLs are literally in their hands. Can John Stewart, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner stop the Blackest Night from engulfing Sector Zero? We're not sure, honestly. But these three pages should get you stoked.

Another BLACKEST NIGHT teaser -- SUPERMAN-style

Yesterday we gave you a sneak peek at the second issue of BLACKEST NIGHT: BATMAN, so why not cap off the week with a look at the second SUPERMAN issue? Sure, why not? Writer James Robinson and artist Eddy Barrows unveil a crisis in Smallville, as the Black Lantern Psycho Pirate attacks. And what happens when Superman's dead bride returns as a Black Lantern? Nothing good, I'd wager. So give these pages a look, enjoy your weekend and be sure to reserve a copy.

BLACKEST NIGHT: SUPERMAN #2 hits 9/23.

Get a sneak peek at BLACKEST NIGHT: BATMAN #2

If any hero should worry amidst the events surrounding BLACKEST NIGHT, it should be Batman. Boasting one of the strongest, creepiest and deadliest Rogues Gallery in the DCU, just the idea of some of the fallen villains returning as Black Lanterns sends a chill up my spine. Will the new Batman's career be cut short? Will Red Robin have to face off against his own father? You'll have to pick up the issue to find out.

A few links of note for Monday

Monday's winding down, and while there are still four more work days looming, let's take a glance at some of the notable bits in the press from the last few days:

Get a first look inside BLACKEST NIGHT: TITANS #1

The BLACKEST NIGHT is upon us, and the dead are rising across the DCU. No one is unaffected, and some teams -- like the TITANS -- have seen more than their share of fatalities over the years. Later this month, writer J.T. Krul and artist Ed Benes will bring you the first issue of BLACKEST NIGHT: TITANS, which spotlights how the heroes deal with the sudden return of some of their most tragic members. But, to tide you over until then, we've got a look at some interiors from Benes.
