DC Comics Art Academy Featuring Chad Hardin & Amanda Conner

Welcome to the DC Comics Art Academy, a series of art tutorials recorded at Comic-Cons throughout 2015 and featuring many of the gifted and unique artists working for DC today. In today's installment, we look in on Harley Quinn co-writer and cover artist Amanda Conner and interior artist Chad Hardin, who discuss working digitally versus practically and what it's like drawing for DC Comics.

Are You Ready for Harley Quinn's Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner and Chad Hardin?

The dynamic writing team of Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti have made quite a name for themselves bringing the comic misadventures of some of our seemingly more outlandish heroines to life. However, fans have responded because of how they bring them to life—by getting to the heart and humanity of the characters beneath all of the over-the-top hijinks.

Zatanna and Zachary take a demonic gamble

Writer Paul Dini and artist Chad Hardin present a tale of family in the fifth issue of the series. Zatanna and her cousin Zachary might have their differences – and get on each other’s nerves with regularity – but if they don't stick together, they'll be down for the count against some of Hell’s Finest. And they’re betting the house on Zatanna’s soul. And if you know anything about Vegas, you know odds are they house wins. ZATANNA #5 hits Wednesday. [gallery link="file"]

It’s Las Vegas – Zatanna-style

Zatanna loves Vegas, and Vegas loves her – but should Zee be wary of the attentions of a handsome, well-connected casino owner? She can hold her own against the most ridiculous Royal Flush Gang ever assembled, and she can just about cope with her cousin Zachary's immature antics, but how about a horde of fire demons? ZATANNA #4, courtesy of writer Paul Dini and artist Chad Hardin, hits 8/11. [gallery link="file"]

DC brings back key war titles in September

The DC offices are closed today, so posting will be light. And, I should be well on my ways to a few days of rest in the Florida Keys as you read this. But we do have one cool bit of news for you to carry you through this Memorial Day weekend.
