This Wednesday, 8/31, DC Comics-The New 52 will officially kick off with the midnight release of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s JUSTICE LEAGUE #1. Over the past few days, the excitement and chatter leading up to the just-around-the-corner launch of DC Comics-The New 52 has been amplified. Here’s a look at some of the highlights.
This afternoon, we’re going to take a look at what the comic book trade press is saying about JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 and The New 52 – including their interviews with some of the talented people behind the launch.

While I was checking in for my flight yesterday from Los Angeles to New York I thought to myself, “Don’t check your bag.” I mean, it was pretty light and who checks their bag for a three-day trip? We’re twelve hours from the launch of DC COMICS: THE NEW 52. Here’s the very latest on today’s coverage:
As I type this blog post, the halls of 1700 Broadway are mostly quiet. Quiet, that is, save for the sounds of Jim Lee and Geoff Johns doing another round of morning radio interviews. With less than 24 hours to go before tonight's midnight launch of DC Comics-The New 52, the press coverage continues to roll in. Among the late night/early morning highlights? * THE ADVOCATE has an exclusive preview of BATWOMAN # 1.
So I’m sitting here in my office when in strolls David Hyde, our V.P. of Publicity. “Hey JC, I really need your New 52 blog post.” “Sure, David, no problem. When is it due?” “Um…today.” “I thought I had until Monday?” “Um, John…it IS Monday…” Which brings me to The First Point To Make About Comic Book Publishing As It Relates to The New 52: 1. Time Is Merely A Concept.
