You already know that this September, one of the Villains starring in his own special one-shot will be the infamous Doomsday.
It's the End of the World!!! Again. In other words, Happy New Year 2012! This is the year that when December 21 hits, keeping any resolutions won't matter because it all goes apocalyptic! So what's our mood here at DC? To paraphrase our pal Alfred E. Neuman from MAD, "What, us worried?" Hardly. Doomsdays are what makes for great stories, and even a cool character here at DC! This just gives us fodder for story material.
Still trapped in a world unfamiliar to the one he knows, Booster Gold is held hostage by Nathaniel Adam, the man he once knew as his friend, Captain Atom. As his memories of the world he knew are starting to fade, Booster is running out of time to escape from the clutches of Nathaniel, defeat Doomsday, and find The Flash to restore the universe to its rightful setting. But when he locates Barry and attempts to use his speed force to fix the altered timeline, he’ll quickly learn that saving the world does not come without severe consequences.
As Steel, Superboy, and Supergirl use all of their might to beat Doomsdays across the world into submission, Superman faces down with the real mastermind behind the reign of terror. But even with all of their powers combined, is the super-team strong enough to defeat all of the Doomsdays? Perhaps the help of an unexpected ally will bring them the victory they’re hoping for and stop the Reign of the Doomsdays once and for all.
In order to prevent history from repeating itself, Booster Gold tries to stop Doomsday as he goes on a rampage and destroys everything in his path. Booster’s mission to restore the original timeline is put on hold – perhaps forever – as he tries to contain an enemy who is stronger, bigger, and deadlier than any he’s ever faced before. Written by Dan Jurgens with art by Norm Rapmund, Dan Jurgens, Ig Guara and Ruy Jose, BOOSTER GOLD #46 hits stands tomorrow. [gallery link="file" order="DESC" columns="2"]
After his adventures in TIME MASTERS: VANISHING POINT, Booster Gold finds himself in a Coast City he does not recognize. When he tries to return to his rightful world, his companion, Skeets, is destroyed. Booster is abandoned in this new world and left to face Doomsday alone. And to his surprise, nobody knows who he is. In fact, Central City unleashes a vicious attack against Booster that not only risks his life, but also the city itself.
Any Superman fan who hasn't picked up ACTION COMICS #900 is really doing themselves a disservice. Besides all of the many, many anniversary features that pack the 96-page issue, you're skipping out on a pretty earth-shaking twist in the ongoing Reign of Doomsday storyline. Those of you who've read it will know what I mean. To those of you who haven't, beware: spoilers after the jump....
