Look! Up in the sky! (Well, okay, on our Youtube page and website.) It's a brand new episode of "DC All Access," and viewers are in for some super new scoops.
This month, DC Comics will release its next batch of Annuals. These special oversized issues will not only build off of the events in their respective series, but will also greatly impact the expanding DC Universe. Every day this week on THE SOURCE, we’ll be putting individual spotlights on each of these Annual issues by talking to various writers, artists, and editors to give you special sneak peeks at what’s to come! Next up is SUPERMAN ANNUAL #1.
It’s hard to believe that we’re already almost one full year into DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. To celebrate this monumental anniversary, each day this week on THE SOURCE we’ll be spotlighting a different paperback collected edition being released this month. With the launch storylines of these critically acclaimed series collected for the first time in their entirety, it’s a great way for new readers to join the growing DC Universe. Today, we shed a spotlight on RESURRECTION MAN VOL. 1: DEAD AGAIN.
Just as the team gets back to Earth in RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS #14, they are interrupted by Superman. Why? Maybe it has something to do with the fact there’s a Black Market alien technology being fenced and the Man of Steel has traced a connection to the Red Hood!
Leading up to next month’s “Death of the Family” tie-in issue, RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS #14 reunites the creative team of the upcoming SUPERMAN ANNUAL #1, writer Scott Lobdell and guest artist Pascal Alixe.
Currently spanning the pages of TEEN TITANS ANNUAL, SUPERBOY, LEGION LOST and TEEN TITANS, “The Culling” crossover event will soon be spinning off into its own series, THE RAVAGERS.
But what does the aftermath of this event mean for this new series?
“The Culling was just the beginning for THE RAVAGERS,” series editor Eddie Berganza told THE SOURCE. “Caitlin and crew are in for a hell of a ride, where their survival will be in question each issue—as they try to fight their killer instincts to Ravage!”
You know him as part of TEEN TITANS. Now, Kid Flash will be starring in his first solo adventure!
In a special one-shot issue of the fan-favorite anthology series, DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS, Kid Flash will race against time as he deals with the prehistoric trouble the Teen Titans brought back from Mystery Island.
MegaCon officially kicks off today in Orlando, Florida, and there will be several DC Comics creators in attendance. DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Dan DiDio and Executive Editor Eddie Berganza will share behind-the-scenes insights at today’s DC ALL ACCESS panel, and will host another panel tomorrow to discuss DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. But that’s not all.
This May, writer/artist Rob Liefeld will take on an expanded role in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. He will be joining three titles – DEATHSTROKE, GRIFTER and THE SAVAGE HAWKMAN – beginning with their ninth issues.
One of the key artists who helped to the define a generation of comic books, Liefeld is perhaps best known for helping to found Image Comics – along with Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Whilce Portacio, Jim Valentino and Marc Silvestri. Most recently, he was the writer and artist for HAWK AND DOVE in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52.
It's the End of the World!!!
In other words, Happy New Year 2012! This is the year that when December 21 hits, keeping any resolutions won't matter because it all goes apocalyptic!
So what's our mood here at DC? To paraphrase our pal Alfred E. Neuman from MAD, "What, us worried?"
Hardly. Doomsdays are what makes for great stories, and even a cool character here at DC! This just gives us fodder for story material.
