The War (Of The Green Lanterns) Rages On

Yesterday, we told you that Earthborn Green Lanterns Hal, Guy, John, and Kyle came up with a shocking and dangerous strategy for battle—but standing in their way is Kilowog, Salaak and all their comrades. As the war heats up in part five of the War of the Green Lanterns, the consequences of their decision begin to come to fruition. Are they prepared to hurt their friends in order to save the Corps?

From the Editor's Desk: Brian Cunningham on War of the Green Lanterns

When I was recently handed the editorial reins to GREEN LANTERN, GREEN LANTERN CORPS and GREEN LANTERN: EMERALD WARRIORS, it felt admittedly daunting. I was coming on board just as all three titles raced into the massive crossover story, “War of the Green Lanterns.” It was an intimidating prospect.

New variants for the week

We have some nice art to help you get through the midweek slump. First up, the cover to THE FLASH #10 by the incredible Francis Manapul followed by the variant of GREEN LANTERN CORPS #58 by Tyler Kirkham. Next up are both JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST #22 covers. The standard is by Dustin Nguyen and the variant by Kevin Maguire. Rounding out the bunch is the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #55 variant by Dan Jurgens.

FIRESTORM JOINS THE FRAY IN GREEN LANTERN CORPS #57

Tony Bedard's and Tyler Kirkham's “WEAPONER" arc comes to its dramatic conclusion in GREEN LANTERN CORPS #57. The battle is heating up between the Sinestro Corps and the Green Lantern Corps-backed Weaponer and his Qwardians, but the truce is still in effect. Neither Corps can use power rings on the other. How can the Green Lanterns help the Qwardians with their hands tied?

One word. Firestorm.

R.E.B.E.L.S. featuring special guest star John Stewart

For R.E.B.E.L.S. #23, writer Tony Bedard and artists Claude St. Aubin and Scott Hanna bring in a special guest star: none other than Green Lantern John Stewart!

In the issue, Adam Strange plays peacemaker between Vril Dox's band of rebellious space cops and the entire Green Lantern Corps, and negotiations aren't going well at all. Let's hope Lobo can stay on his best behavior... but I wouldn't bet any of own money on that!

R.E.B.E.L.S. #23 hits stands today.

What is the “AQUAWAR”?

Before we roll into the full list of BRIGHTEST DAY solicits, we thought this merited a mention. Heck, the name alone gave us pause. “Aquawar”? As BRIGHTEST DAY barrels toward its grand finale, things heat up for one of the main protagonists and his supporting cast — it’s too early to get into details, but how about a look at the cover to February’s BRIGHTEST DAY #19 and the other key BRIGHTEST DAY titles and a few more clues below?
