I collaborated with Brian Azzarello on SUPERMAN: FOR TOMORROW, so that might make me a little biased, but I think he's one of the best writers in the comic book industry. His work is smart, funny and crisp. The kind of stuff that makes an artist look good.
Last Friday, COMIC BOOK RESOURCES and Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles hosted a wrap party for the first month of DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. The writers and artists in attendance included Brian Buccellato, Bernard Chang, Mike Costa, Dan DiDio, Josh Fialkov, Sterling Gates, Adam Glass, Kyle Higgins and Scott Lobdell. Head on over to COMIC BOOK RESOURCES to hear all of these creators talk about what titles from DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 were their favorites.
[Editor's note: Grant Morrison provided the below commentary for the bonus material in the new BATMAN AND ROBIN MUST DIE! Hardcover - for more behind-the-scenes material from Grant, Frank Quitely and Frazer Irving, be sure to check out the book, now in stores!]
They say you you can't go back, the past is the past. It isn't always true. When Azzarello and I found out we had the opportunity to add some additional material to our Lex Luthor story, it was like someone gave us the keys to the DeLorean. Although I think we can both look back at Luthor with some pride, there's also a bit of unfinished business there. That is, until now.
Now that Mr. J's secret is out in the open, will the girls' reaction take them to the point of no return? And will Harley Quinn ever be the same? Only writer Paul Dini and artist Guillem March know for sure, but a few pages never hurt, right? Especially right before a holiday weekend. GOTHAM CITY SIRENS #6 hits today. [gallery link="file"]
What's got the Clown Prince of Crime riled up? What are Catwoman and Poison Ivy trying to track down? What's Harley doing on a date with Bruce Wayne? Uh, is that Bruce Wayne? These questions and a few more will be answered in GOTHAM CITY SIRENS #4, from the regular team of writer Paul Dini and artist Guillem March, which hits 9/30. What? Can't wait? Well, we've got five pages with your name on it below. [gallery link="file"]
