Arrow: Slow Start, Strong Finish

Yoooo! We’re back!

With the long break between seasons, it feels like forever since we discussed some Arrow. I was eager for tonight’s episode and just as eager to jot down my thoughts.

First things first…

I heard from a reliable source that that a number of NFL teams have called Ollie to inquire about the status of Curtis after displaying his arm strength by throwing the T-Sphere to chase down that rocket. What a cannon!

Back to reality…

Arrow - Comic-Con 2017 Trailer

After the dust settled on season five, ARROW fans were left with plenty of questions about where things would pick back up in season six. While many of those questions still remain, the crowd in Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con was treated to a first look at all-new, exclusive footage from the upcoming sixth season, including the highly anticipated return of Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson.

Arrow: Not Done Yet

High drama in Star City tonight.

Thea returns. Rene still can’t decide if he wants to be a dad. Ollie’s dad is an accidental killer. The flashbacks return…

I was really excited to see Cody Rhodes’ character, Derek Sampson, return.  I’m a little bummed he wasn’t really used as much as I thought he would be, but that’s how the cookie crumbles, I guess.

Overall, tonight had a lot of moving parts in it.

Arrow: Ollie's Law

It’s been phrased differently over time, but Murphy’s Law basically breaks down to this: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

It’s safe to say that this pretty much sums up tonight’s episode.

But I’d like to step back for a brief second. I saw something in the comments section of last week’s column that I’ve noticed for a while now and it looks like others see it, too.

Curtis aka Mr. Terrific—err, Mr. Comedian?

Arrow: Who Is Cayden James?

Annnnnd......we’re back!

After a little hiatus, Arrow has returned. I have to admit, though, this episode left me feeling a little like Homer after he joins the Movementarians and they show him the brainwashing video.

Homer: “Wait, I’m confused about the movie. So, the cops knew that internal affairs was setting them up?”

Movementarian: “What are you talking about? There’s nothing like that in there.”

Maybe the gap between episodes kind of threw me, but I found myself a bit confused at points tonight.

Arrow: No Shoes. No Shirt. No Kill.

Diggle dropped a line in tonight’s episode that I feel I’d be doing a disservice if I didn’t start the column out with it. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen or heard a hero in a comic, TV show or movie say this and it’s too good to not repeat. Here it goes:

“We don’t hire criminals and pay them with diabetes drugs!”

Haha. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s move on…

Tonight’s episode had a lot of moving parts—probably the biggest being Anatoly stepping out of the flashbacks and into the present storyline to take care of Ollie’s dirty work.

Arrow: No White Hat

There was a TV show in the late 1950’s and early 60’s called The Rifleman. It was a Western that revolved around a rancher, Lucas McCain (Chuck Connors), raising his son Mark in the New Mexico territory of 1870’s.

I watch the reruns all the time.

Why?

Arrow: Daughter of the Demon

This past Monday, I popped dinner in the oven and flipped on the tube. I was looking to unwind from the daily grind. I did the standard channel surfing game for bit and decided to check out what I had saved on the old DVR.

To my delight, I had an episode of Comic Book Men. I don’t go much for the “reality” shows, but I dig this one—as I’m a fan of Kevin Smith and the View Askewniverse.

Arrow: About That Reveal...

Wow…well, it looks like I have my work cut out for me tonight—even though I was hoping for impeachment. :)

But be honest, who saw tonight’s reveal coming? Quite the shocker!

Let’s discuss and break down what happened. And I’m going to put a big SPOILER ALERT here for anyone who hasn’t yet watched the episode. Time to peace out until you’ve seen it.

Okay, for those of you still here, let’s talk about “Fighting Fire with Fire’s” big turn:

Curtis’ husband slapped him with divorce papers!
