A few variants for Wednesday

There’s always a ton of amazing artwork funneling through the halls here at DC, and it’s fun to stop and showcase a number of the cool variants that will be featured on the cover of upcoming books. Kevin Smith rolls out the guest stars in BATMAN: THE WIDENING GYRE #3

While the Dark Knight stalks the Gotham streets at night, Bruce Wayne spends his daylight hours getting reacquainted with former flame Silver St. Cloud. Plus, Batman learns the name of his mysterious masked ally. Continuing superstar writer Kevin Smith's latest Batman tale in collaboration with artist Walt Flanagan, the issue also features guest-appearances by Aquaman, the New Teen Titans and Deathstroke.

Kevin Smith's BATMAN story continues in THE WIDENING GYRE #2

Writer/filmmaker Kevin Smith continues his collaboration with artist Walter Flanagan with the second issue of BATMAN: THE WIDENING GYRE, and to say it's loaded with surprises would be a bit of an understatement. Featuring more guest stars, more plot twists and more Bat-action, what are you waiting for? Oh, right. The issue isn't out until 9/30. In the meantime, take a look at some of Walt's pages.

Writer and filmmaker Kevin Smith re-teams with his CACOPHONY collaborator Walt Flanagan for BATMAN: THE WIDENING GYRE for an all-new adventure starring the Caped Crusader. The stakes are high as Batman encounters a new vigilante, amidst what Smith describes as a "backdrop of romance, intrigue and geek-bait guest stars galore."
