Yes, we could be talking about John Constantine, the “hero” of the upcoming NBC series Constantine and the DC and Vertigo comics from which it draws its inspiration. But we could just as easily be referring to Mary “Zed” Martin, the vision-prone artist embodied on the show by actress Angélica Celaya.
As announced earlier today on USA Today, actor Michael James Shaw will be joining the cast of NBC's Constantine in the recurring guest role of Papa Midnite.
Yesterday, NBC gave us our first look at the new Constantine series heading to the airwaves this fall. Clocking in at around three minutes, this just-released trailer suggests that we can expect Constantine to be bleak, subversive and horrifying.
