Lucifer: Comic Drake Recaps His Comic Book History

Lucifer, the brand new #DCTV show based on the classic Vertigo series, premieres tonight. That doesn’t give you a lot of time to get caught up on his 25-year comic book history. (Though you’re welcome to try. Lucifer’s original series as well as his brand new comic are both available digitally.) Fortunately, thanks to our friend Comic Drake, you don’t have to.

DC All Access is giving the devil his due! In this new clip, we look at Lucifer Morningstar's compelling comic book history, from his debut in the pages of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman to his new ongoing Vertigo series by Holly Black and Lee Garbett, all in time for his small screen debut.

Lucifer 101: What You Need to Know

LUCIFER #1, written by bestselling fantasy novelist Holly Black and drawn by Lee Garbett, is in stores today. It features the iconic Vertigo Comics character originally created by Neil Gaiman for THE SANDMAN and further defined through the long running LUCIFER series written by Mike Carey and drawn frequently by Peter Gross.
